How to Change Factions in Grand Campaign

——————————————————————————————

The default starting faction is Gondor (P1). If you would like to play as another faction follow these simple steps (which should be familiar to anyone who has used the scenario editor):

1) open the Third Age Campaign.scx scenario in the Age of Mythology editor
2) go to the "Scenario" drop down (top left) and select "Player Data" from the list
3) in the “Control” column, set control to “Human” for the faction you want to play as
4) click the “Clear AI” button on the right of the faction you want to play as
5) set the control for Gondor (or any other human controlled factions) to CPU
6) click the “AI” button for Gondor and set Gondor’s AI to aomdefaultai.xs
7) you can start the scenario in one of two ways:

Test Play: once you have set controls and AIs, simply go to Scenario and Test Play Scenario and select the player number and difficulty you want to play on. You do not need to save before test playing however, you will not be able to save and resume at a later time.

Load Scenario: once you have set controls and AIs, you will need to also set the player number by, for example, going to Place Object and changing the "Place As" to the player number you want to play as. Save the scenario and return to the main menu. Open in Single Player->Load Scenario. This is the method that most people find most convenient. Just remember that you must set and save the player number to the one you want to play as or you will be forced to play as Gondor in Load Scenario. Unlike playing in the editor, Load Scenario will allow you to save your progress to resume later.

Most AI files (see step #6) do not work for AoMEE but I encourage the user to play around with different files and report successes concerning AI performance.

Please check the discussions section for further information about how to use these scnearios. As always, I welcome all comments and suggestions. Please check the "Known Issues" discussion before reporting bugs but please do report bugs that you come accross.

Legends of Middle-earth

——————————————————————————————

Check out the LOTR-themed total conversion mod for Age of Mythology, Legends of Middle-earth, now released on the Steam Workshop. This scenario will not work in Legends of Middle-earth without some editor work, but if you’re a fan of LOTR, the mod is a must-have.
