Manic Achilles MKII – XL (RE)

This is a heavily modified version of Ente’s most excellent Achillies Mk11, a Mid- to Lategame CV https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2803970038.
If you loved it too, but wished it could go a bit further into the game then please try this out. I almost always play with my modified version of the ship and bring it in as soon as possible, before hitting those Hell planets. It’s brought me so much enjoyment, thought I’d share it with you.
Its wider, so has more mount points (choice of more than 50 placements!)
Its taller, so can fit the full 8 ‘medium’ shield upgrades
Its longer, to retain the aesthetics
Its heavier, and slightly slower but still hits max speed and actually improves on mobility!

It has all the features of the original, and will never be a spinney spinney boat. I normally put the first few Aux cores into thrusters, shield and adv. generators, with a sprinkling of turrets. Once you’re up to around 5-6 Aux cores you can start to max out those turrets and cannons, but your choice.
The ship is split into 3 main sections, with the bow essentially a solid block of combat steel and xeno. It can take a hit! But please ensure you are pointing towards the enemy. The mid-section is hardened steel housing the bridge and core room, which has added protection for those Aux cores. Finally, the stern is mainly steel, but has strategic hardening around the fuel tanks and generators.
Also added some tactical sentry guns for when you’ve landed and have those pesky Zirax running around.
There are a couple of 640k containers that can be used for cargo transportation to earn the coin, while you go on those drone hunts.
The P menu has the grouping already added, allowing you to optimise any attack. Normally leave “miniguns” on all the time. There are no Flak as default, but once you acquire the Sentinel turrets just add them to the ‘AntiDrone’ group and turn on when in space. To bring their shields down engage “AntiSheilds” and don’t waste those missiles until later in the battle. But don’t forget to turn on those cannons!
Important: Do not “Auto Group”, as all the grouping will be lost!!! Any changes add them manually.
Initial weapon loadout is purely personal, I like to down the shields as fast as possible, more time to engage the artillery. The 20k shield gives you some good time in battle, but remember you don’t have to back out straight away (reversing!), the bow really doesn’t mind!
Finally, lots of storage for those longer trips away:
