Units – Scout to Explorer
This mod introduces a new recon unit in industrial age, the explorer. It also give to scouts an upgrade option to become explorer when obsolete.
Features:
- Adds a new recon unit: the explorer, to the game, which was inspired by the Scramble for Africa scenario of Brave New World Expansion.
- The explorer act as a recon unit from the industrial age and offer an upgrade option to scout instead of becoming obsolete.
- Unlike in the Scenario from Fireaxis, Explorers dont replace Archeologist. The archeology system was left untouched. Only the graphic and icons from the Explorer were extracted to be applied to a balanced recon unit for the era, made from scratch based on Scout.
- The Explorer can be built when Rifling is discovered.
- The Scout become obsolete when Rifling is discovered but can be upgraded to explorers.
- The Explorer become obsolete when Flight is discovered.
- All these changes have been also applied to unique scout unit, like the Shoshone Pathfinder
- All these changes are reflected in Civilopedia (see screenshot)
