It is with great pleasure that I can present you this config from a good friend.

The config represents a replica of a 250 GTO that raced at Le Mans in 1962.

Thanks sab0tag3_74 for this great work and the background information about this racing car.

Here is a little history porn:
In the 1962 Le Mans there were 5 stunning new 250 GTO’s entered by customer teams.
They carried the 3.0L V12 from the Testarossa sports car. Although GT regulations stipulated that 100 examples had to have been built,
Ferrari was able to convince authorities that it was actually a derivation of an existing model – the 250 GT.
Permitted under the rules loophole, it could use that production record to homologation (the ‘O’ in ‘GTO’).

The Equipe Nationale Belge team with the #22 Ferrari 250 GTO driven by “Eldé” (Leon Dernier) and Belgium “Beurlys” (Jean Blaton) took 3rd place in their division.
First place went to the Belgian Olivier Gendebien and the American Phil Hill, driving a Ferrari Testarossa for team SEFAC Ferrari.

In November of 2023 at Sotherby’s New York the one of the remaining Ferrari 250 GTO’s of the first 5 produced in 1962
(GTO Tipo chasis #3765) sold at auction for $51.7 million. Which was less than the estimated $60 million it was speculated to bring.
This car was driven by Mike Parkes and Lorenzo Bandini in the 1962 Le Mans but did not finish after having radiator problems only 7 hours into the 24 hour race.

This mod will add a new config for the Ferrari 250 GTO from deadbob777 to the game.
