Description:

Synthetic fuel is a hydrocarbon fuel that differs from conventional fuel in the production process, that is, obtained by processing the source material, which before processing had characteristics unsuitable for the consumer.

Typically, this term refers to liquid fuels obtained from solid (coal, sawdust, shale) or gaseous fuels. Processes such as the Fischer-Tropsch process are used by countries that do not have liquid fuel reserves.

Synthetic fuel plant

If you do not have oil, you cannot purchase it or deliver it to the Oil Refinery – you have the opportunity to build a Synthetic Fuel Plant. At this plant, through chemical reactions (Fischer-Tropsch process), you obtain fuel from coal. At the same time, you really get quite a lot of pollution, and fuel that is more expensive in cost (a lot of coal and chemical catalysts are required).

You can read more details on the Wikipedia website, in the articles Fischer-Tropsch Process and Synthetic Fuel
