2nd LW Inspired: Tiroyy Crossroad
Inspired by the legacy 2LW Project Altrius Maps. This is the fifth, and most detailed, map in my "Inspired" Series:
“1900 Hours, Day 6.
Punching through the Perlechkin Line at Praegan and neutralizing ad-hoc defenses throughout the Praegan Uplands and along the Tiroyy River, elements of the Syrvanian Republican Army Group North rapidly move to storm the strategically vital city of Tiroyy. While the mechanized assault divisions outflank the static Home Army units obstinately manning the shattered Line, this force successfully seizes and secures the city after three days of methodical, unrelenting attacks, much to the jubilation of the strongly Pro-Syrvanian population.
With the deceptive attack against the southern Moerlands and coastal forts drawing many elite units far to the south, and with morale nearly shattered by news of the surrendering First and Second Corps (with the 75,000 strong force offering virtually no resistance), the remaining Third Corps of Hetland’s Second Home Army abandons it’s hopeless position at the far northern end of the Line, fighting desperate rearguard actions as it attempts to escape encirclement through a disorganized retreat southeast toward Tiroyy, unaware of the city’s capture.
With aerial reconnaissance and sporadic combat reports warning of several Hettic divisions reforming 15 kilometers to the north, Army Group North dispatches two mechanized companies in a reconnaissance-in-force mission along Tiroyy Turnpikes No. 5, 6 and 8. Hindered by communication issues, this force is currently only a mere 3 kilometers north of the city.
In moments, this force will find out just how out-of-date their intel is on enemy forward positions…”
A small-scale pitched battle map intended for 70-120 combatants in short to medium range fighting, with balanced combat (or any advantage wanted). Highly detailed layout of farm fields and outbuildings separated by Hedgerows of varying thickness, roadside dikes and ditches and shallow waterways. 5 to 10 second respawn recommended.
Like in real life, some hedges are traversable, some inhibit movement, and some prevent rounds from passing through! For those who are observant, you can generally tell the difference by gauging the thickness/height of the hedgerow. If it looks pretty substantial, it probably is! This is intentional!
No aircraft available, sorry!
