Description:

CV, Core2, Unlock Level 10, Class 2

Helios-compatible high-capacity storage module. Reforged Eden 1.11.

Works only in Reforged Galaxy/Reforged Eden. This CV takes advantage of features only present in Reforged-based scenarios.

The SM14 (Storage Module – 14x) is a follow-on to the successful SM20 Cargo Rack with some improvements to take advantage of Reforged’s higher capacity limit on cargo controllers. This model features 14 larger cargo containers with 640k capacity, which delivers 40% more total storage capacity over the SM20. It also cuts back on the number of smaller boxes vs its older brother, both to reduce inventory list clutter and to reduce size class. At size class 2 this variant should be more performance-friendly than the size class 4 SM20 when used with a fully-equpped Helios carrier. The solar panel wing has also been removed in order to maintain forward compatbility with Reforged Eden 2.

If you are familiar with the other cargo racks in this series then you know the drill: dock the module, enable "Park Mode", and enjoy a ton of attached secure cargo. This model has the same features as the SM20, which are detailed below if you need a refresher.

This is an "open space" design. The cockpit is the only oxygenated compartment, so make sure you throw on an EVA booster if you want to manually access the cargo containers. All containers are named such that they can be easily located using the letters printed on the deck.

The ship features a power-conserving docking mode that will automatically turn off the ship when you are not near it. It can be enabled through the control panel by activating the "Dock Mode" switch and turning off the "Oxygen" switch (this suppresses the O2 warning you get when turning off power to the ship).

There is extra generator and CPU capacity to add small constructors if you want to expand the module’s use to include minor production. Just attach them to any free space along the hull, or replace unused cargo pallets with them. If you add constructors you cannot use the "Dock Mode" switch. Just turn off the thrusters manually for the best power savings until your production run is complete.

The SM14 can also be configured for landing and docking to a carrier deck. You will have to install four 1x2x1 landing gears (Landing Gear 1 Retractable) to the truss blocks directly adjacent to the four lift thrusters. A boarding ramp in the front deck will give you access to the ship.

If you wish, container colors can be changed by modifying the six colors in the upper-right of the paint tool’s palette.
