Description:
Description

This mod improve the animations and it’s intended to make battles more realistic but also more cinematics, perfect for videos.

I have made this mod for my personal use with Ancient Empires mod (that I use in the videos) but it works well also in vanilla game.

Animations changes:

– Remove ridicolus decapitations with spears and swords
– Reintroduce all the animations that where removed without reason at the cost of removing some bugged amputations animations, there is a greatly more variety in killing animations now
– Improved infantry charges
– Improved cavalry charge (see cavalry vs infantry video)
– Improved cavalry vs cavalry animations
– Improved sword without shield infantry animations
– Improved falx infantry animations
– Formed infantry remain in formation, free infantry don’t
– Differents combat styles for Heavy infantry units, hoplites and normal units

And more…

FAQ:

– This is a complete and independent version of my series of mods, It’s not compatible with my previous ones.

– The mod works fine with all possible other mods, if them made some changes in matched combat mechanics my mod will probably overwrite them (I named it to be the first loaded), anyway I can’t test all possible combination of mods to be sure, try it, if it crash it’s not compatible 😉

– For battle length questions: I think that free infantry battle length will increase over time but not drastically (I think that’s reasonable), formed infantry stay in formation.

– For battle time questions: I think that don’t change a lot, maybe having more 1 vs 1 combat it’s a little longer, but infantry charge is more effective now so attacking from the rear have a strongher impact.

– I have replace sword amputations and decapitations animations with no blood and gore equivalents because that animations are bugged and have a sort of privileges to appear more frequently then others.

– I have reintroduced blood decals on sword vs sword animations.

I will be in vacation for a while so I will not be able to answer questions nor to update the mod, anyway my newest mod are perfectly operative despite still in development.

If the mod will result out-of-date please select "enable out-of-date mods" option and will work.
