2024 UPDATE

This release no longer contains a shotgun or an MP5. Why? Because I liked Citizen5’s amateur-ish shotgun animations and Citizen5’s M4A1 animations, and compiled them on Thanez’s hands with better weapon models. I wanted to make those compiles compatible with this pack, but I also wanted to give people the option of keeping IIopn’s animations. The easiest way to do all that was to split the shotguns and MP5/M4A1 into separate downloads. To complete this pack, simply choose whichever shotgun animation and MP5 replacement you want from the Required Items, and subscribe to them too

INSTALLATION

1) I’ve fixed the vpk structure to function with the Workshop functionality added in 1.5. However…

2) For whatever reason, replacements for the shotgun and gauss gun installed via the Workshop do not work. I don’t know why. Therefore…

3) You still need to create a /custom folder inside your /bms folder. Follow Citizen5’s guide

4) Once the /custom folder is set up, subscribe to this release, navigate to Black Mesa’s workshop folder and find the .vpks associated with this release. They should be in the following path: C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent3628902106766023. You’re specifically looking for ThanezHEV_dir, ThanezHEV_000, and ThanezHEV_001. You will need to look in a separate folder for the shotgun files

5) Copy those vpks to your /custom folder

6) Unsubscribe to the release (but favorite it so you can check for updates!)

7) Unsubscribe from (or remove from your /custom folder) any existing mods which replace model files for any weapon. This mod replaces every single first person animation and weapon in the game (including world models for the 357, Crowbar, Glock, Grenade, MP5, and SPAS-12), so any other subscriptions or installations you have which replace model files for the same weapons/sequences will cause conflicts

Installation FAQs:

1) This pack replaces every single first person animation and weapon in the game, other than the shotgun (including the world models referenced above). If you have any other mods installed (whether subscribed via the Workshop or in your /custom folder) which replace model files for any of the weapons, that will create conflicts with this release. That means you need to unsubscribe/remove any mods you currently have installed which replace the model files for any of the weapons. To install the shotgun replacement, choose either IIopn’s or CitizenFive’s animations from Required Items

2) This mod is compatible with retextures of the default weapons (to the extent the defaults are used in this mod)

3) This mod was compatible with MBWS’s Beefy Weapon Sounds IIopn Compatibility Patches pre-1.5 update. I haven’t tested it post-1.5 update (these sounds would not totally work with CitizenFive’s shotgun animations in any case)

4) The version of the mod uploaded here is my preferred configuration. However, the release on Gamebanana[gamebanana.com] allows you to choose between:
A) Crowbar: Crowbar Collective’s or IIopn’s animations
B) Glock: Thanez’s Glock P80 or Kimono’s Beretta M9
C) SPAS-12: folded stock or stockless. IIopn’s animations only

DESCRIPTION

This pack replaces the default HEV arms for every single weapon and first-person animation with Thanez’s arms. It also replaces default weapons with Thanez’s versions (where applicable), and replaces default animations with IIopn’s or Citizen5’s versions (again, where applicable)

Because IIopn used Black Mesa’s default rig, that means all of these replacements will function with different arms in multiplayer. Because of that, I also replaced the multiplayer world models, and multiplayer-only weapons (pipe wrench, stun stick, syringe). I don’t think CitizenFive’s shotgun animations work in multiplayer, but I haven’t tested them

Random thoughts:
1) I used the M67 grenade instead of the Mk 2 because a) the U.S. military hasn’t used the Mk 2 since Vietnam, and b) Thanez didn’t make a Mk 2, he made an M67 🙂

2) The assassin unfortunately uses the standard Glock world model in the right hand, so I couldn’t make that silenced. I did, however, make the Glock in the assassin’s left hand silenced. So pretend they’re all left-handed
