This mod aims to bridge the gap between sailboats and the modern battleships while also giving more uses for coal.
Monitor
Caravel upgrade, has +2 sight and double movement on coast, upgrades to destroyer
Ironclad
Privateer upgrade, has 33% bonus vs cities, upgrades to destroyer
Cruiser
Frigate upgrade, has indirect fire, upgrades to battleship

- All the sail ships remain obsolete at the original techs
- Ironclad has 5 movement instead of double movement on coast
- Ship of the line now starts with sentry instead of +1 sight so that the promotion can be carried over
- Ship of the line now has a more accurate icon and frigate has this icon

Compatibility
I have not tested with other mods but it will not work with the enlightenment era.
Please let me know of any imbalance issues
