LAW is an overhaul mod with the goal of making conflicts fast, devastating and strategic.

Drill has been changed into a system of provisional supply for armies to simulate operational range, keep them well stocked before war to avoid severe attrition.
Modifiers are added or changed to give a wider range of viable tactics when at war that were not viable before.

Provincial Features:

  • Max attrition has been changed from 5 to 20.
  • Terrain give hostile attrition boosts as low as 0.25 and as high as 4.
  • Challenging terrain is now challenging to convert religiously or culturally.
  • Intolerance and unaccepted culture penalties are now more challenging.
  • 100% more governing cost for provinces, giving more value to client states for land empires.
  • Devastation has been made more devastating. Fort defence and supply are reduced and attrition increased.
  • Unrest is more brutal and gives a wide range of local debuffs to what you extract from provinces.
  • Institution spread is decreased according to climate and terrain.
  • Colonization speed is decreased according to climate and terrain.

Military Features:

  • Sieges progress faster and slightly more consistently, at a rate of every 20 days.
  • Generals give army tradition instead of army professionalism.
  • Total occupation is reached when you occupy a nation completely for 12 months, changed from 60 months.
  • Armies have slightly higher rebel suppression ability.
  • Armies can retreat sooner in a battle.
  • Forts surrender once there are fewer than 250 defenders.
  • Cavalry loots and suppresses rebel activity slightly more effectively.
  • Army drill now takes 2 years to reach 100% and 2 years to decay back to 0%
  • Army drill gives:
  • Max army or navy tradition give 0.25% yearly army professionalism, army professionalism from drilling has been lowered to 0.5% yearly.
  • Max war exhaustion gives -20% land/navy morale, 0.2 yearly corruption and no longer gives coring cost penalties.
  • Army drill now takes 2 years to reach 100% and 2 years to decay back to 0%
  • Regiment army drill gives:
    +20% movement speed
    -10% shock and fire damage received
  • Average army drill gives:
    -100% land attrition *Used to negate the extreme attrition penalties.
    +10% faster morale recovery
    +10% reserve organization
    +50% faster reinforcement
  • Slacken Standards gives:
    An increased penalty of -10% yearly army professionalism.
    +250% manpower recovery speed
    +250% sailor recovery speed
  • Expensive army professionalism with diverse benefits to different playstyles. 100% army professionalism gives:
    +20% attack power to all ship types
    +20% fort defence
    +20% shock and fire damage
    +40% siege ability
    -50% drill decay
    +20% maintenance cost to forts, mercenaries, and land/naval units
