M.S. Baycheemo
Fictional History:
The Baycheemo was laid down in 1904. It was, at the time, Ostlands (fictional south eastern European country) most modern and biggest cargo ship. They afforded themselves every amenity and comfort that a cargo and mail ship of the time had. It was finished in 1907. In its sea trials the issues with its Steam Powerplant began to show. It burned coal at an alarmingly high rate while not exceeding more than 10 knots. During the next two decades nothing of note were to happen. It did its cargo deliveries and was much beloved by the crew, besides the maintanace department and was a symbol of the prospering nation.
During WW1 it was taken as a multipurpose supply vessel, repainted and stripped of its more luxurious interior. After the war had ended, a general overhaul of the boat was ordered. The Baycheemo had her fuel bunkers, steam pistons and boilers and everything that came with it removed. In their place was now a brand new Diesel Engine, which made it Ostlands first diesel powered merchant ship. The Interiors also received an overhaul, and even if not restored to its original glory, it was still way more comfortable than most others merchant ships of the time.
From then on it duly did its job. Ferrying crates, barrels, boxes, mail and small containers across the Adriatic and Mediterranean Sea. Until 1936 that is. In July .36 it ran aground on uncharted islands during a thick fog. Nothing was ever heard of the crew.
The ship was found 4 weeks later by some fishermen. The Ship looked like it was abandoned only hours ago. One of the lifeboats was missing, but there was absolutely no structural damage on the hull except slight scratches and dents that didn’t compromise it. Infact there was no water in the ship at all. After multiple failed attempts to tow the massive boat it was just left there to rot. The once proud symbol of a prospering nation, now left behind to be vandalized by visitors and slowly reclaimed by nature made headlines across the world.
It still sits there today. Decks rotted away, anything of value, be it sentimental or monetary, taken. The mast collapsed and superstructure sunken in. The Stern split off and mostly sunken into the mud and sand.

how to start:

Possible Multiplayer crew positions
Minimum: Helmsman, Machinist, Captain
If you have more people: Radio operator, steering room operator (helmsman gives position of rudder for the steering room operator to turn to)

- has some more difficult controls
- Can be used by a single person, though multicrew usage is way more fun and effective
