Cessna 172 Skyhawk
Cessna 172 Skyhawk (1:1 Scale)
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is an American four-seat, single-engine aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft Company. First flown in 1955, more 172s have been built than any other aircraft. It was developed from the 1948 Cessna 170, using tricycle undercarriage, rather than a tail-dragger configuration.
(Engine button is moved to pilot seat’s 6 key.)
Design is highly realistic in shape and scale with glass cockpit and 4 seats in a narrow, only 5-blocks wide, cabin, also with accessible engine and cargo compartments. Cockpit instruments are from some of the workshop’s best creators. There are few compromises however, such as 4-blade propeller. Because standard propeller is too big and causes propeller strike so I had to use tail rotor which doesn’t generate much thrust. There was not enough room for second gearbox to increase rotation speed of the propeller. So I had to increase blade count to 4, rather than 2.
– Highly realistic design with modern glass cockpit
– Projected (small) screens
– Altitude hold & GPS Autopilot
– Flaps
– Rps-based throttle control
– Radio
– Aircraft lights
– Primary Flight Display & Map
– Heater, reserve battery
– Inventories: Flare gun & ammo, compass, transponder, radio, welding torch, binoculars, oxygen mask, fire extinguisher and two first aid kits
1. Screen ON
2. Engine ON
3. Flaps ON (for easier takeoff)
4. Throttle up to 100% and takeoff at 60+ Knots against wind direction (if there is wind)
5. Turn Flaps OFF when you are airborne
6. Throttle down to 90% for optimal cruise
Note: If you keep throttle at 100% for speed, make sure that engine temperature doesn’t go beyond 230 degrees Fahrenheit too long. Also turning the heater ON increases engine temperature, so keep your eye on temperature when you turn the heater ON.
