Description:
PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION, thank you

Hello and welcome, to my newest build! I mean i say that about everything that ‘this is the newest’, but ya’know just roll with it. I present… the Yak 141. It is what i call a ‘simulated realism’ build, in this case its hydraulics that im simulating. Its nothing super duper fancy, but it adds an extra touch in my mind.

As always, feedback of any kind is always welcomed.

Information

Here is some information from wikipedia to start off with:

The Yakovlev Yak-141 (Russian: Яковлев Як-141; NATO reporting name "Freestyle"), also known as the Yak-41, is a Soviet supersonic vertical takeoff/landing (VTOL) fighter aircraft designed by Yakovlev. Intended as a replacement for the Yak-38, it was designed as a supersonic fleet defence fighter capable of STOVL/VTOL operating from Soviet carriers. Four prototypes were built before the project’s cancellation.

How to: cold start and takeoff

Firstly, go to the right side console, at the front of it are various circuit breaker switches which need to all be turned on. Following that, go to the switches directly behind and turn on the start and fuel system switches (remember to turn the starter off after the engine starts running). Once that is done, you can turn off the brakes and start taxiing using the throttle on the left hand panel (or hotkeys). To takeoff conventionally, just line up on a runway and takeoff like a normal plane. For VTOL use the hotkeys to enable VTOL mode, and then the plane flies just like a helicopter.

How to: operate the weapons

The weapons controls are on the right side pilot panel bellow the switches to startup. Its rather simple to operate the weapons, just select if you want to use the cannon or hardpoints (if using hardpoints select which to use), and simply fire away.

Other things to keep in mind

Note, the throttle values are the RPS you want the engine to run at.

Idle throttle: anywhere between 2.00 and 4.00
Taxi throttle: 3.000 up to 7.00
Landing throttle: recommended at 10.00 or 11.00
Takeoff throttle (conventional): 20.00 or more
Takeoff throttle (VTOL): recommended full throttle

The rear landing gear may tend to not properly retract when in forward flight in low physics settings, sadly a side effect of pivots being damn weak. To solve this, either be stationary using VTOL or briefly switch between VTOL and conventional flight when retracting the gear to knock them into place.

When in VTOL mode, the gyro helps keep things stable, it is not needed to fly but it helps. Also, the engine doesnt produce enough kick when between modes (full VTOL or conventional flight) so i recommend simply being in VTOL or not.
