Apollo — Harbour Tug Boat
The Apollo is a small harbour tug. A harbour tug is a type of vessel specially designed to offer the necessary support during the different maneuvers carried out by other vessels or floating devices within the port.
The Apollo is designed to be extremely stable when towing the largest of vessels, and do so at a decent speed. The Apollo’s wheelhouse has a panoramic view for optimal visibility of whatever task you wish to accomplish. The wheelhouse is also equipped with two high tech Garmin MFDs that house a plethora of useful features. The Apollo has a four cylinder 3×3 modular engine that powers two props, as well as a small generator engine for electricity regeneration. On the ship’s port side you will find a water cannon for extinguishing fires. And in case the engine catches fire there’s a sprinkler system in the engine room. At the stern there is a huge winch for towing operations. The Apollo also has an array of maneuvering thrusters for navigating tight environments.
To start up the Apollo you first need to go to the wheelhouse. Once you sit down you need to turn on all the pumps. They are found to your right. After that turn to your left and flip the engine switch. A green light should turn on once the engine is running. Also turn on the monitors and back lights if you would like. After you do all that you’re good to go!
