History (Fictional):
Ordered by OV-Group from Sawyer Yards in 1967, the M/S Velkua is a small regional ferry capable of traversing the sawyer isles with a small draft.

M/S Velkua started operation in the summer season of 1968, she became an instant hit with the traveling public of Sawyer, she was also liked by her bridge crew for her small turning circle and powerful bow thruster.
Traveling on the small ferry was a enjoyable experience with her small passenger lounge with a cafe and beautiful views of the bow from the huge windows, she was also liked for her elevated back deck offering passenger fresh air with views to the stern of the vessel.

After 3 successful seasons with OV-Group the vessel was sold to Sawyer Traffic to operate as a link in the north sawyer in 1971.

She was operated by Sawyer Traffic for a total of 24 years before being sold to Sawyer Charters as a charter cruise ship performing small charter cruises for a few years.

In 1998 she was sold to Arctic Expeditions for a career in arctic cruising, she was transported to the Arctic region before getting a total refit to go in theme of the cruise market she was now designed to be in.
She received a restaurant in place of the passenger lounge, a small sauna was build below the car deck and the car deck was renovated to fit 5 cabins and a mud room.
Her bow was strengthened to fight the arctic ice fields.

She continues to provide small and niche cruises in the arctic to this day, during the years her engine has been replaced and she has been equipped with stabilizer fins.
