USS Virginia (Fictional)
USS Virginia is a further development project of the Montana-class battleship. When the US Navy knew Yamato had 460mm guns, they started designing a new 18-inch battleship. To counter Yamato and her successor, Virginia was equipped with 12 MkA 18" guns in 4X3 main battery and heavy armor to protect against 18-inch guns. Unlike previous US battleships, Virginia has higher freeboard, providing better seaworthiness in North-Atlantic theater. At the time of her commissioning, aircraft and Kamikaze attacks became a very huge threat for the Allied fleet. Virginia added lots of 76 mm and 40mm anti-air batteries on her deck, with her huge and steady hull, she became an effective anti-air platform.
