Valkyrie Cruiser
The Valkyrie Cruiser was ususally found in service alongisde the Gemini Heavy Cruisers to provide long range fire support as well as Point Defence coverage during large engagements. As with the G-HC, most hulls have been scrapped or resold after being disarmed, and it’s large and long bulkhead length has gained it some popularity with independant traders who modified what used to be missile storage racks into plentiful cargo space. Some ships remain operational in the frontier sectors for various reasons.
It’s design methodology revolved on large alpha missile strikes, sending barrages of up to 16 missiles in quick succession. It housed two missile fabricators in the event a sustained missile bombardment was needed, though it cannot replenish it’s full bank of missile tubes due to the way the missile storage racks are spread out to provide some explosive isolation.
Four Small turret mounts and two tiny turret mounts provide Point Defence Coverage with a mix of medium and short range CIWS.
Two repair drones are mounted for repair work.
