X – Improved Gauranlen Tree

Description:

The mod makes a number of changes to Gauranlen Tree. The speed of trimming is affected by the mental sensitivity of the pawn, bonding level decreases slower, dryads spawn faster.

The workshop has a huge number of mods for Gauranlen Tree. However, I couldn’t manage to put together a selection that would fully satisfy me (besides, it seemed strange to install 3-4 mods for the sake of one single tree). So I wrote this mod. It does not claim to be original. Rather, it is my personal view on how Gauranlen Tree should be.

List of changes:
– The level of mental sensitivity affects the speed of trimming in the same way as the speed of overall performance. Based on the description of the tree, it seems perfectly logical. It’s also a pretty balanced and game-justified way to increase your trimming speed. You can find a "Psychic Gauranlen Connection" mod in the workshop that does the same thing and nothing more. You can subscribe to it if that’s the only feature you need.
– Rewritten the fragment responsible for the rate of decrease of the tree-to-pawn connection. Now it decreases evenly. At 100% the connection will decrease by 4% per day, at 75% it will decrease by 3%, at 50% it will decrease by 2%, etc. (that is, by 0.04% for each % of connection). That seems more sane than what we have now. Also, if a pawn can’t tend a tree, you’ll have more time before one of the dryads dies due to the connection level dropping below 75%. With vanilla values this will happen in 4 days, with my mod it will happen in about 7 days.
– In addition, the fragment responsible for the rate of connection decrease due to nearby objects has been rewritten. Now the penalty increases uniformly by 0.5% as you get closer to the tree (it’s less than vanilla values, besides, it’s just more convenient to count). If you build something close to a tree, the penalty is 3.5%. So the maximum penalty (if you build something adjacent to a tree trimmed at 100%) will be 7.5%.
– The time it takes for a tree to bud another cocoon has also been reduced. From 8 days to 5 days. That’s how long it takes for a dryad to fully transform. It seemed reasonable to me to equalize the time of these processes.
– The mod also disables annoying and absolutely useless messages about the fact that your dryad has again produced another portion of some resource. This idea I found in the "Gauranlen tweaks" mod and developed it by adding support for the "Vanilla Ideology Expanded – Dryads" mod.

The above changes result in an overall reduction in the amount of time a pawn has to spend tending to a single tree. This way you could either create a colony where everyone has a tree and would be able to care for it without spending too much time on it. Or it would be possible to assign one pawn with heightened mental sensitivity to take care of a whole grove of such trees.

In version 1.5, an additional option is available with the "XML Extensions" mod. Optionally, you can double the number of dryads that one tree gives (see new screenshots).
By default, this setting is disabled. The game will need to be reloaded for the changes to take effect. To work properly, "XML Extensions" must be higher in the mods list than "X – Improved Gauranlen Tree". The autosorter does it all by itself (it works for me), but in case it doesn’t, just move "XML Extensions" above my mod.
If you don’t have "XML Extensions", the mod will work as before. There is no dependency, don’t worry about it.
