Afghan Soviet Invasion
On the 24th December 1979, the 40th Soviet army was deployed in Afghanistan after the assasination of Premier Nur Mohammad Taraki of the Communist party to halt the rebellion and revolution the country was experiencing. The Afghan mujahideen were assisted by the U.S.A, Saudi Arabia and the U.K, among other nations. Historically, the war ended with the overthrow of the Afghanistan Communist Party on the 15th Febuary 1989. In this scenario, you will play as a Soviet overseer of Nangarhar tasked with the mission of stabalising the rebelling populace. Can you do better than the Soviets in real life?
