Tatra K2SU
Tatra K2 is an articulated tram manufactured by ČKD from 1966 to 1983, the first in the range of ČKD articulated trams. Produced on the basis of the experimental K1 with electrical equipment from T3. The prototype left the workshop in 1966 under the number 7000. For a short period of time, the car traveled around Prague, then it was transported to the city of Most, and then to Brno. Serial production of K2 began in the same year. Most of the cars are still in use today, although many have been modernized. The car was equipped with four TE 022 traction motors. The Tatra-K2 current was collected using a pantograph. Novosibirsk became the first city in the USSR to receive Czech articulated railcars. The modernization of K2 in Brno, the largest customer for this type of wagon, included a complete redesign of the front end and an upgrade of the electronic equipment. The upgraded machines received the name K2R, where the letter R means "remanufactured".
K2SU is a version of K2 produced from 1966 to 1969 for the Soviet Union. 246 wagons were produced. The only car K2SU that has survived to date is museum car No. 300 in Yekaterinburg (Museum of the History of the Development of the Tram and Trolleybus Administration of Yekaterinburg), restored in 1998.
