Dinant – Crossing the river Meuse by Steelwedge

Updated 4/2015

This is a SP / COOP mission taking place during Fall Gelb. It is May 1940. You play as general Erwin Rommel commanding the 7th Panzer Division. You are tasked to cross River Meuse at Dinant. You can use rubber dinghys for capturing a bridgehead at the opposite bank of the river. After the bridgehead is secured your bridging battalion will be able to build a pontoon bridge over the river and you can then move your Panzer Regiment over and continue your advance.

Note #1: This is a independent stand-alone mod – Normand´s Valour mod units are already included in download/subscription – there´s no need to subscribe any other mods.

You are recommended to deactivate ALL other mods such as GSM when running this mission.

It was for this reason that this weapon acquired the unflattering sobriquet of the army’s ‘door knocker’. Numerous reports spoke of 37mm shells from both weapons simply bouncing off the armour of tanks like the Somua and Char Bl-Bis. What emerged as the most effective tank mounted weapon against enemy tanks in the French campaign was the low velocity, 75mm KwK37 L24 gun carried on the Panzer IV…" http://weaponsandwarfare.com/?p=2764
