Oak Street
Please note, this map is very large and very detailed. Anticipate some lag & FPS issues (especially at startup). There are a bunch of options provided to help assist with lag, but if you’re having issues with running this map, I’ve provided a collection of all the individual properties.
This neighborhood contains 11 houses & a gas station. All are meticulously detailed & modeled to be as realistic as possible. All properties contain:
-Full HVAC systems
-Full plumbing systems that spill water when broken
-Full electrical systems including circuit breakers and wall plugs.
-Smoke detectors and doorbells.
Each property contains a furnished as well as an unfurnished version.
In addition to these options, there are a few additional options:
-Traffic light – This option toggles the cycling traffic light. The poles remain, but they no-longer light up if turned off
-Utility – This option is not recommended unless you are having trouble running the map. Turning off this option turns off all of the wires on the utility poles.
-Interior Wiring – This option is turned off by default. This toggles the wires that are hidden inside the walls of the houses. Normally, these wires aren’t visible, but if you want extra realistic destruction, they can be turned on.
-Holiday – This option is a work in progress. Currently it just provides a pleasant snowy environment.
YuLun for uploading their spectacular sectional garage door mod to the workshop. This map utilizes these sectional garage doors.
Winter for uploading their spectacular Trees Pack mod to the workshop. This map utilizes these trees.
WAY2GO for uploading their Bright Valley Correctional Facility map to the workshop. This map utilizes portions of this map.
JakeTheDude & WAY2GO for graciously play testing this map.
The map is laggy, what can i do to fix it?
-Step 1, turn off all other mods to see if they are causing the lag.
-Step 2, in the main menu, turn all of the houses/gas station to "unfurnished" and turn all the other options to "off"
-Step 3, if the map is still unplayable, I have provided all of the properties as individual maps that are smaller/easier to run. These individual maps have the exact same content as the main map (minus the quest).
-Step 4, if the individual maps are unplayable even in the unfurnished setting, I can’t help you..
Will you add more options to the map for FPS?
No.. I’ve debated potentially redoing the 3 on/off options to be a more generic "low, medium, high" instead of specific items, but right now, I have no plans to do so.
If you are struggling to run the map, see "The map is laggy, what can i do to fix it?"
Will you add ragdolls to the map?
no..
Ragdolls are super laggy & the map already receives enough lag complaints. If you want ragdolls, there are various mods on the workshop that make placement very easy. I’d suggest looking into them.
Will you add a school/ fire station/ etc to the map?
no..
The map is in it’s complete form. Any additional buildings will be their own separate project.
I can’t find (insert quest item), where is it?
Saying where they are takes all the fun out of it! The pieces of paper will give you instructions on how to find them. If you can figure out the atomic time machine, the rest should be quite easy.
When you have successfully completed the quest, the game will send you back to the main menu.
I’ve heard there are easter eggs. Where are they?
I will not say where the easter eggs are.. That would take the fun out of it! With that said, I can confirm that the following features exist on the map:
-The main quest
-Large "courtroom" easter egg
-Small "QR code" easter egg
-Lots of small lore items in the houses.
Can you make (insert item) spawnable?
no.
