Dynamic Diplomacy for AGOT (DDA)
Dynamic Diplomacy for AGOT (DDA)
v 0.1 (BETA)
This version is for AGOT only. A vanilla version will be coming after the new DLC drops.

Are you tired of the repetive nature of CK3 Diplomacy?
Do you wish you could cultivate relationships with your vassals that translates to real loyalty across factions, schemes, and warfare?
Have you ever found it weird that you can marry your eighth son to someone’s ninth daughter and now they’re willing to throw their army away for you?
Well, say goodbye to those issues!
Vassal Management & Calling the Banners
- LPs and Kings now start with Bannermen assigned to them (this is roughly lore friendly)
- For High Lords and Dukes, if they start with any vassal having an opinion of +25, those vassals will start as Bannermen
- New Character Interaction to ask a vassal to become your Bannermen (this is difficult and will require you to work on your relationship with the vassal)
- Bannermen Details
- Massive modifier applied to keep them out of hostile schemes and factions
- When you go to war, you will receive an event to call your Bannermen, allowing you to call Bannermen to ALL of your wars
- Bannermen are listed out separately under the Relationships menu
- Loyal Vassal Details
- Moderate modifier applied to keep them out of hostile schemes and factions
- When you go to war, you will receive an event to call your Bannermen, allowing you to call loyal vassals to ALL of your wars
- The status of being a Loyal Vassal is dictated by the vassals current opinion of you. This mean that they are not honor-bound to join you and the status does not transfer to their heirs. This is a more transient state than that of being a Bannermen.
- Marriage and Negotiated Alliances are now Defensive Alliances, meaning you can only call them to wars where you are the defender
- Other alliance restrictions are still in place, meaning those allies are less likely to join factions/schemes, etc.
- There is a new character interaction where you can ask your allies to become Sworn Alllies (also known as Full, Aggressive Alliances), which will allow you to call them into your aggressive wars.
- You can tell these allies apart as their COA/Shield in the Diplomacy section of the Character Window have a glowing star above it and they are listed separately in the expanded Diplomacy window
- If you attack an AI ruler and call in a foreign ally, the AI ruler’s lieges will join the war to defend their soverign territory.
- OK, so this can get a little complicated, so here are some examples:
- 1. You are High Lord Walter Frey in the Riverlands and you marry one of your many daughters off to Balon Greyjoy, creating an alliance. You then give him money and sway him and he agrees to become a full, aggressive ally. You then get a claim on Seagard and attack the Mallisters. You call in the Iron Islands to your aggressive war. In this instance, because the Mallisters of Seagard of AI, the Tully’s will automatically join the war on the side of the Mallisters since the Freys called in a foreign ruler into the Tully’s lands, violating the Tully’s sovereignty. However, the Iron Thron won’t join the war because the Tullys and the Greyjoys are both their vassals.
- 2. You are a count in Dorne under a High Lord. So your have three lieges above you: Your High Lord, Your Lord Paramount, and the Iron Throne. Through some smart game play and using hooks, you get a marriage between your heir and a daughter of the ruler of Tyrosh and are able to turn it into a full, aggressive alliance by utilizing a strong hook. You then go to war with your High Lord for his title and call in your Tyrosh ally. In this instance, because the Tyrosh ruler does not share any Liege with you, all your lieges will join the war, meaning your High Lord will have the Dorne LP and the King of the IT join the war to repel the foreign Tyrosh army.
- NOTE: A liege is only auto-added to wars where the defender is the AI. If you are the defender, you will need to right-click on each of your lieges and ask them to join.
- AI: The AI can call allies to aggressive wars as normal. The reason for this is pretty simple. AI can’t actually use character interactions like players do, so they will never form "full, aggressive alliances". This will be changed as soon as the AI gains the ability to make Sworn Allies.
- The ability to call House Members and Diarchs/Regents is unchanged. You can call those folks to your aggressive wars as normal since that’s a separate mechanic apart from allies.
Future Ideas
- New AI Features:
- Allow AI to make new Bannermen
- Allow AI Bannermen to revoke their status of being a Bannermen if you let their opinion drop to -100
- Allow AI to make Sworn/Full Alliances and remove the ability for AI to call defensive allies to offensive wars
- Additional Features:
- Add the ability for Bannermen to refuse a call to war
- Currently, Bannermen only have the ability to ignore their Lord’s call to megawars
- AI Bannermen now get an additional modifier that should push them to take the same side in a megawar as their liege, which should result in less fractured mega-wars
- Add opinion/imprisonment penalties to Bannermen who refuse their Lord’s call to either normal or megawars. Currently, if they don’t side with the Lord in a mega-war, there is no penalty and the AI can’t currently say no to their Lord when called to a normal war
- Add the ability for Bannermen to refuse a call to war
- Merge Valaddar’s AGOT Tweaks into this mod with a game rule that lets you turn on/off the ability to choice your children’s education trait
