Tatra T7B5
Tatra T7B5 is a non-serial tram car of the Tatra family, produced by the Czech ČKD factory in Prague from 1988 to 1993.
The T7B5 is a four-axle, high-floor tramcar with one-way doors. Unlike its predecessor T6B5, the design of the doors and carriage bogies was changed in the new car, the visibility from the driver’s cab was improved, and a controller was used instead of the classic acceleration and braking pedals for the Tatras.
Tram cars can be operated independently or as part of two or three units controlled from the head car. The car is equipped with a thyristor-pulse TV3 type control system.
In 1988, the first two T7B5 prototypes entered the Prague tram depot. The cars received board numbers 0024 and 0025. Car 0024 was operated in Prague, then in 2002 it was dismantled for spare parts. The 0025th was upgraded in 1991 and sent to Oslo, where it received a new tail number 200. In 1995, the car began to be used for entertainment purposes under the number 321. In 1998, the car was sent to Gothenburg, where it received a tail number 100 and began to operate as a service car.
The next two cars 0026 and 0027 were produced in 1989, and after testing in Prague they were sent to Moscow, where a year later they received numbers 7001 and 7002, and since 1994 – numbers 3321 and 3322, respectively. Subsequently, car 3321 was transferred to the Museum of Electric Transport in Moscow under the number 3326 (later 7005), and 3322 was converted into a warehouse car. In 1993, four more cars (7003-7006) were delivered to Moscow, which received numbers 3323-3326 in 1994. Subsequently, cars 3323 and 3325 (they are also 7003 and 7005) were repainted in original colors and transferred to the Moscow Electric Transport Museum, and car 3323 received museum number 7001.
