Lopes FSA-08 Autoloading Rifle
"Though revolutionary for its time, the FSA-08 struggled to find a place, unlike other contemporary rifles, such as the Astorian Gewehr 30 or Katskayan Yakov-Rodiya, which had uncountable copies and licensed versions, Lopes’ rifle was ultimately only used by two militaries: Kyushu’s and Velaria’s, but we mustn’t forget it’s status as one of the first autoloaders to be mass produced." – Karina von Teese in "The history of firearms Vol.II"
Lore
Entering service in the year 148 AGR* by the Velarian Navy and in the year 150 AGR by the Army, the FSA-08 is a conversion of the earlier "Model 08", a straight pull back bolt action submitted to the national rifle competition in 140 AGR, when the Velarian Army sought to replace its previous M34 rifle, the Model 08 was rejected in favor of the M40 rifle, Though Fabiano Lopes- the designer of both the Model 08 and subsequent FSA-08 did not give up and worked on a conversion of the Model 08 into a self-loading/autoloading rifle.
After 7 years, Lopes presented his new proposal to the Velarian Military, the "Fuzil Semi-Automatico" or FSA, the Velarian Marines showed great interest in the rifle, holding trials for a few months before adopting it, while the army still had its reservations about it due to the previous Modelo 08, they still ended up adopting it in 150 AGR.
The FSA-08 saw extensive use during the Matsovia-Celestoria war, being mainly used by the Velarian Marines which reinforced the Matsovian Home Guard during the later stages of the war, a few examples were captured by the Celestorian Army and reverse engineered, though they deemed it too complex for production.
It also saw limited use during the Emmerichan civil war as a licensed version of the FSA-08 was produced in Kyushu and subsequently used by their expeditionary force.
*AGR: After Great Revolution, the great revolution itself being a industrial revolution brought about by the discovery, extraction and processing of two materials: Emberite and Celestium
