Tanksy’s Thrusters
This mod tweaks Small & Standard Thrusters.
– Lowered Standard’s Ramp-Up Time
(Large is still faster over same time, but only slightly)
– Raised Standard’s power cap. to 3
– Lowered Small’s fuel use to 0.01
(Was previously 0.03)
In vanilla, Standard thrusters are immediately out-classed in every aspect by Large Thrusters. Not so much an issue, but it does leave something to be desired – especially for large ships.
This mod tweaks Small and Standard thrusters to be a little more useful to larger ships, with Standard’s able to ramp up to full thrust faster than before which provides a more immediate impulse of thrust – making them more useful for quick manoeuvres and course adjustments, while keeping their power relationship to Large thrusters the same.
Small thrusters are also given a little boost, treating them to a greater fuel efficiency than before. (They were already quite efficient, but now they’re even better.) This entices their use more as crew will have to spend less of their precious time refuelling them. Standard thrusters are also given some fuel support with a third battery, but their efficiency (and how frequently they will call for a battery resupply) remains the same.
