ES Kyiv -Intcp Destroyer
Combining lessons from the Catalan Class and the ES Madrid, the ES Kyiv by EuroSpace Industries (yes, in the future Ukraine is part of the EU – deal with it) is a lighter version of the Madrid’s dual Chaingun design. Its role lies between the two archetypes, able to intercept relatively fast targets while trading some speed for more firepower. Said firepower consists of 2 very fast reloading Chaingun setups it borrows from the Catalans along with 4 Disruptors to overload shields while the Chainguns spin up. In addition to ESI’s traditional shield neck, the Kyiv features a shield layout that provides good defense from all sides, leaving only few unshielded blindspots. Bolstering this already formidable defense are 6 PD-guns on either wing. This highly defensive layout enables it to fly into the frey to orbit or flank enemies when escorting larger combat vessels without fearing shots from behind. Though it is also able to hold its own against most vessels of similar size.
