Less De Jure Kingdoms & Empires On Map
Tired of seeing non-existent kingdoms and empires as De Jure territories on the map? Well this mod deletes them all from the map, leaving only those that had at least one ruler in their history(one exception being Empire of Hispania as I fear it would break the Struggle mechanic which is tied to this title in some places). Kingdom titles under existing empires(Byzantine, Persian, Arabian), although a lot of them are not historical, remain on the map not to change the de jure borders of their empires. Titles that didn’t exist before 867 start(England, Norway, Ruthenia etc.) gain their respective de jure land on the date of their creation stated in ‘history’ folder so they are fully present on the map by 1066. Along with the title history files i also edited landed_titles.txt in ‘common’ folder.
Side notes: kingdoms of Frisia and Lotharingia are now de jure belong to Francia on 867 start(in history files they were incorporated into Francia in 790s. Now that Germania is gone these kingdoms are now back under Francia).
This mod’s de jure titles are easily changed by mods that use "on_game_start" on actions such as Culture Expanded.
I planned to also add decisions that allow you to create these titles and add de jure land to them, but now I play CK3 less often and ditched that idea. That’s why it can make the gameplay worse as you can’t become king or emperor in some areas.
My solution and recommendation is playing this mod with Custom Kingdom Titles setting On so you can still climb up ranks
