No research required. The balance and textures are as vanilla as possible.
Made with mods that limit early game in mind, specifically VFE Tribals.
Roasting animals is wasteful, as you won´t get any leather, but the roasted meat has a slight mood buff. Meat.
Of course you can just roast meat too.
You can also roast people.
