The 843 series cars are Czech railway motor cars, which were produced by the Moravian -Silesian wagon a. S. (now Skoda Vagonka) in the late 1990s. They run in operation as passenger trains, fast trains and express trains. The owner and operator of all cars of the 843 series are since the beginning of Czech Railways.
The mechanical part of the 843 series is based on the 842 series vehicles, from which the travel structure was taken over, which consists of two two -axle chassis. The interior arrangement is also very similar to the 842 series. A novelty is the space for a wheelchair, two lifting platforms located in the luggage compartment and an information system for passengers. The 843 series cars are divided into two passenger compartments that are separated from each other by boarding space. Behind the larger section is the second boarding area and luggage compartment. The air -conditioned drivers are located at both ends of the car. The fronts of the cars are passable for staff.
Power transmission is alternately DC. The power units consist of two turbocharged LIAZ diesel engines (each with 300 kW), which are through a flexible clutch associated with traction alternators. They supply paw electric motors through traction rectifiers. The car is controlled by a central control computer.
The car is equipped with an automatic pneumatic disc brake with wheels in wheels and electrodynamic brake, efficient even at low speeds. Brake resistors, which are naturally cooled, are found on the roof of the vehicle.
