Modern German Level Crossings
In the 1980s the Deutsche Bundesbahn and various rail crossing manufacturers designed the standardised technology concept ‘Einheits-Bahnübergangstechnik (EBÜT)’. Each manufacturer continued the developememt and came up with newer products. The manufacturer PINTSCH, earlier known as Pintsch Bamag, developed new computer-controlled railroad crossings of type ‘RBÜT’. Since 2022 they are marketed as PINPROTEGIO 300.
This mod contains an EBÜT 80 type Pintsch Bamag (available 1990 – 1999) as well as a PINTSCH RBÜT (available from 1999). Each one has variants with traffic signals only, with half barriers and with full barriers. All of these variants can be build for rural or urban roads and either with or without a lightning symbol on the crossing sign (for electrified railways).
The end year for the EBÜT 80 can be disabled in the mod settings.
Note also the upcomming package by Modwerkstatt which contains older german rail crossings and many matching assets. I will link it here as soon as it is published.
The crossings are explicitly designed to be used with roads form the mods ‘RTP – Roads And Trams Project’ and ‘Joe Frieds Street Package’. Additionally they suit the passenger level crossings inside stations build with the ‘German Stations’ mod.
