Fishery Survey Catamaran R.S.V. Astako
The R.S.V. Astako is a high-speed catamaran in OMUA’s (Oceanic Marine Underwater Agency) Fisheries Division. Launched in 2024, the Astako reaches speeds of 44 knots while facilitating the deployment of crabbing gear. Designed for manual crab sampling and catching, the Astako is equipped with a large hopper system, multibeam sonar, two radar systems, and an advanced autopilot. It offers comfortable accommodations, including a small lounge, research area, and cabin for up to two people. With a standard crew of four, the vessel is built for short trips and is engineered to allow single-crew operation in emergencies.

Turn the engine start key on the right table (Indicator light should be on). The systems are started by buttons.
