Description:

The T-64B (1976) is a modernised version of the T-64A tank. Main differences: 9M112 Cobra guided missile weapon system, for which the smoothbore gun was modified (2A46-2) with the addition of the ability to launch ATGMs from the barrel channel, a new fire control system 1A33-1 with a 1G42 sighting-distance-tracking device with an integrated laser (quantum) rangefinder (for the first time in the USSR, with a 7-year delay with respect to the Chiften tank) with high accuracy of target range determination and a system for determining the correction for lateral movement of the target and with an electronic ballistic calculator with automatic calculation of corrections for firing, a napalm defence system, a Tucha smoke grenade launching system, solid side screens, increased dynamic stroke of the support rollers.
Since 1984, additional 30 mm thick steel plate was welded onto the upper frontal plate for the ‘Reflection’ development work. Later versions of the tank are equipped with the 9K112-1 Cobra guided weapon system and a completely redesigned 125 mm gun – the 2A46M-1 launcher, stabilised in two planes.
