Dwarf Daemon Slayers
Updated for The Silence & The Fury DLC Thorek FLC.
This mod plugs a notable gap in the Dwarf roster: Daemon Slayers.
Dragon Ogre Shaggoths, dragons, and dinosaurs all need to think carefully before attacking Dwarfs now for a unit of Daemon Slayers will make short work of them.
Attributes
– This lot fight Daemons and have appropriate attributes: unbreakable, anti-large, armour-piercing, perfect vigour, charge defence versus large, and cause terror
– They’re still Slayers so will deliver a Deathblow before they fulfil their Slayer oath
Considerations
– The Slayers should complement the Dwarfs, not compensate – this unit should not fundamentally change the way you play a Dwarf faction
– The unit is comprised of fewer, tougher Slayers because Daemon Slayers should be rare, elite fighters
– Daemon Slayers are a "glass cannon" unit that will ruin large units quickly but will themselves melt if attacked by anti-infantry infantry
– Forgoing armour, Slayers remain vulnerable to ranged attacks (despite Whirling Axes)
– A mechanic I really enjoy in previous TW titles is settlement-specific units – made occupying some settlements a real prize – and I’m resurrecting that. Daemon Slayers are an elite unit available only at the Great Slayer Shrine of Karak Kadrin and, since they wield magic weapons, will require a Runeforge (Tier 5 Smith) too
(…but you can add them to a custom battle if you can’t wait to see them in action)
– These guys are hard as nails and are highly resistant to physical and magical damage
– Being hit by large units is less likely to send these Slayers flying
