Description:

Mod adds graphic elements and reworked galaxy texture (smoother whirlwind).

Clouds are more visible to stand out and galaxy has more of an milky way colour.
(I might make a darker version of this later:) )

This is purely for immersion purposes only, since the layer containing the chart
is the moving part of the vanilla galaxy texture and cant be used as a static grid.

Probably in the future we’ll get also grid with sectors for the galaxy overlay
and this will become obsolete/not usable, but until then…

update

This is for the clarity on how the galaxy works (vanilla or modded):

there is 1 galaxy whirlwind texture (in vanilla) png.
This texture is used 4 times in 4 layers. 1 of which moves at different speed.
The reason why it is in different layers are colours and opacity.
It makes the illusion of moving nebulas and whole galaxy.

In Galaxy chart mod I reworked the texture (rendered new),
since in some details you could see unpleasant pixelation or holes.
I guess it was the work of 8bit and the layering.
The texture is now much smoother.
Also its now used only twice (I found there is no need to use more of its layers) and 2 different graphics of the chart (moving separately lines and circles, giving kind of the "clock" impression:) ).

When/if there will be the option to make a static grid I will make new art,
in the manner of DW:U, where the sectors will be actually useful tool.
Until then its just visual fluff for old school scifi immersion 🙂
