jgrim’s Better Borders
After using my HOI4 map colour styling mod for a while, I wanted a compromise between vanilla’s lack of visual context on the terrain map and large countries being completely filled in with colour.
This adds a much wider colour band on the borders that thins as the camera zooms in.
– When playing larger countries (ex. France), when most of the country is in view, the terrain is still largely visible and smaller countries will be fully coloured in.
– When playing smaller countries (ex. Switzerland) and keeping the camera closed in, the same border colouring is maintained while making the terrain still visible.
– The paper map is also richer without feeling cartoonish. Tested on all vanilla paper maps.
