Saddam Hussein in hiding is a meme with a schematic image of the bunker in which Saddam Hussein was hiding. The picture was turned into the basis for abstract photoshops. Origin. On December 13, 2003, the US military discovered the hideout of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The former Iraqi president hid for six months in underground bunkers after the fall of the government.The day after the takeover, the BBC published an infographic with a diagram of Hussein’s hideout. It was a drawing of a small “spider hole” with a dugout in which the dictator could only lie. He himself was depicted as a red silhouette.
