Bow and Arrow Alternative Drawing Add-On
This mod changes the input method for firing the bow. Hold the attack button while aiming to draw, and release to fire.
This is the same interface as the Bow and Arrow Alternative Drawing mod, but it adds it to the base Bow and Arrow mod as an add-on, rather than replacing that mod entirely (and duplicating its code).
This mod uses the custom sounds from Bow and Arrow Alternative Drawing, with kind permission from Chill Down.
- If the player is aiming with a bow, they can hold down the attack button to draw the bow, and release the attack button to loose the arrow. This is not hard-coded to the left mouse button, but should work with whatever attack button you have configured.
- Plays custom sounds for drawing the bow, firing the bow, dry-firing the bow, hitting a zombie in the body or hitting a zombie in the head.
- Dry-firing the bow (drawing and loosing without nocking an arrow) damages the bow.
- The time it takes to draw the bow decreases as your Archery skill increases. It starts off being more than half a second, but drops rapidly over the first few levels of Archery.
- When the bow is ready to fire, the "drawing the bow" sound will stop, and the bow will flex.
- Stop aiming to cancel the shot.
Chill Down’s "Bow and Arrow alternative Drawing" mod uses the same mod ID as Gluten the sensitive’s "Bow and Arrow" mod (MandelaBowAndArrow). This means that installing both mods at once can confuse Project Zomboid (even if you attempt to disable one or the other).
This mod is designed to be used in conjunction with Gluten the sensitive’s "Bow and Arrow" mod, but PZ will think all is well if you have "Bow and Arrow alternative Drawing" installed (due to them having the same mod ID). This will cause strange behaviour, however.
The upshot is that you will need to unsubscribe from Chill Down’s "Bow and Arrow alternative Drawing" mod (not simply disable it) if you want to use this mod.
