Description:

The Marlin Early to Late Game CV

Core 1, Level 12, Complexity 3, Reforged Eden 2

Intentions: Spawn early, upgrade it to late game! Upgradable, Survival, Customizable

The Marlin is my attempt to create a "life-long" vessel – you can spawn it in quite early and due to it’s upgrade capability, it will serve you into the late game.

Therefore, the Marlin is built relatively light – its hull is only made of steel in the stock version, while some non-protective parts are even made of plastic.

While intended to become a combat vessel, it offers some versatility to be useful earlier for survival. In addition to the fully equipped medical area, it offers space for 15 hydroponic units. Not much, but enough to grow some food and medicine. It also sports a landing pad and a compact hangar, which doubles as the workshop.

Upgrading

The upgrade capabilites are based on two concepts: sealed compartments for the upgradable devices like shield boosters, generators etc. and a compact walk-in decoy area within the ship’s nose.

While you progress, you may want to upgrade the wall elements and the simple doors for better protection against chain explosions, equip the ship with additional or more advanced versions of your devices and install more weapons.

Detailed instruction for the indoor modification is available directly on the ship.

To provide some examples, there are two already upgraded variations on the workshop:

– Core 7 – Good for drone farming, light to medium combat, small station raiding. No special parts. Have a look here!
– Core 9 – This version is probably sitting near the upper end of the upgrade potential of the Marlin’s frame. You can deliver quite a punch on Core 9, while your shields go up to 80-100k, depending your settings. Have a look here!
