Scaling as the flame decreases is exponential. Just because bright light doesn’t seem too bad, doesn’t mean black as pitch is ready to end the run!
As enemies crit, the flame decreases. As the flame decreases, enemies can crit more and can remove more torch when they crit, all the way until low torch, where they start to receive massive defensive and offensive bonuses.
As for heroes, they can regain some torch and can crit more as the flame decreases, though the scaling isn’t as intense as it is for enemies. Additionally, traveling flame drain becomes more intense as the flame decreases.
While this flame is equipped, the Shambler receives additional mashes to spawn in at <25 flame. The chance for these mashes is roughly 5 times more than typical shambler spawns.
The Shambler now can apply two debuffs on heroes. One increases damage taken at low light and one increases both traveling flame drain (per hero with the debuff!) and increases the chance for the shambler to spawn from the unique mashes from this torch (also per hero with the debuff!). Base game shambler mashes are unaffected.
