Antistasi Single Player
This is the definitive Antistasi experience for the solo player, featuring a number of balancing tweaks aimed at reducing grind and artificial difficulty. Please be sure to check the FAQ at the end of the description!
If you love, or want to love Antistasi, but want a more balanced experience, read on!
* Reduced counter attacks. Counter attacks are now no longer multiwave grind fests. There will be one wave of enemies to deal with.
* Introducing the Port Shop: Upon capturing a port, you will have the option to buy weapons, ammo, drones, military vehicles and even a tank. Because if you can take a seaport from NATO, you should be able to buy military gear from discerning 3rd world dictators. If the mujahadeen can get Stinger missiles, so should you.
* Battle hardened AI. Training prices have been reduced, and the hard coded skill caps on your friendly troops have been removed. Solo players need AI, it doesn’t make sense to handicap them.
* Easier Arsenal. Weapon unlocking is easier now, because as one man you don’t have time to loot 25 of everything you need. Weapons unlock at 10 on normal, 5 on easy and 25 on hard.
* Recruitable AA. Antistasi puts the "hell" in helicopter. And all you get to fight it is a useless AA truck which usually gets picked up by aircraft before it can engage them. I’ve replaced it with a two man AA team, which is much stealthier and cheaper, and truer to the guerrilla spirit of Antistasi. Though they will get more hits, they only have 3 missiles so don’t rely on them to stay in the fight for too long!
* You can also recruit AA specialists for your garrisons.
* Lower initial support for the enemy. Because who likes their occupiers? Now initial support for the enemy is 35%, which can allow for some different and more dynamic opening strategies. Knock out a radio tower in the early game and a significant section of the island will be ready to fall. But watch out, if you expand too fast the counter attacks will ramp up before you’re ready!
Though my version is optimized for single player, it still works with multiplayer if you prefer my version for your squad. It works with ACE, tfar, acre and RHS. The WW2 mod will work, but the port shop will allow you to import 2035 era stuff, so you should probably not use it.
KNOWN ISSUES: Sometimes the option to import stuff disappears from the port flag. Check the vehicle box at your HQ and you will find the option there as well.
BUG REPORTING: Feel free to leave a comment or send me a personal message if you encounter any issues, just know that Antistasi is a huge mission with hundreds of scripts, and I am one man. I’ll do my best to help, but there are some latent issues not related to my edits that I may not be able to fix. It may be wiser to report issues directly to the Antistasi Community team. They are better coders than I.
Above all, enjoy!
FAQ
It takes forever to load!
Yes it does.
I spawn with like 30 dudes in their underwear and a ton of weird markers on the map?
The mission did not fully initialize, which means something broke it while it was gathering all its resources and stuff. 99% of the time this is a mod conflict.
Is this compatible with my favorite mod?
Probably not. I STRONGLY recommend only attempting this mission with officially supported mods like TFAR and RHS. Any mod that adds weapons or equipment probably wont work and will likely break it. The only mods I have tested this version with, are blastcore and JSRS soundmod. Other than that, assume your mod is INCOMPATIBLE.
I got oneshotted from across the map. This is still too hard.
Bullets tend to kill you in arma. Try not to get shot.
I took like, one trash dump resource and like, the enemy sent a tank and a squad of 8 dudes. So hard man! Like, how am I even supposed to play this??? You said singleplayer! You said balanced! You’re a liar!
Look. If this is you, you are not getting the point of OG antistasi and this mission is not right for you either. You are literally supposed to be building a guerrilla force from the ground up. Starting as one man, and fighting a legit military. It’s not going to be all butterflies and rainbows. If you as one dude decided to form a rebellion and went and seized a post office or something, how do you think your government would respond? By sending a force you can easily handle? No. You will take losses, you will loose territory. That’s the point. The goal is to be dynamic and OVER TIME work to overcome this. My take on this mission is just purely reducing the ridiculous grind associated with the original, to make it more enjoyable for a single player.
Will you continue developing this mission?
I planned to, but probably wont. This is because the official antistasi community addition is making their version much more modifiable, and it will be much more tweakable than mine, allowing you to tailor the experience to your needs. Already, they have made a lot of the same common sense changes that I have, obsoleting my version. Furthermore, they are dropping the singleplayer component from their mission entirely, which makes it impossible for me to continue working off of their version. I have zero intention to develop my own branch beyond their own.
