Description:

Never planned to release this, but since Chlodio’s mod went down, here it is—public until the original returns.

This is my personal fork: same core functionality, but almost completely rewritten. The main idea was “set and forget.” You can stop using the new death mechanics anytime without disabling the mod, either by never giving your character the trait, disabling the mechanic (via decision), or removing the trait (via console); there’s also an option to hide the decision, that only shows the decision with debug mode active (my F11 key quick toggle for that).

I’ve made some changes. You can now toggle death mechanics on or off, and I’ve added game concepts for more in-game explanations. Decision and events have been expanded on. Tooltips and descriptions have been added and rewritten to match CK3’s vanilla style, though trait names fit my own playset—sorry!

Updated for compatibility with all mods and all game versions, and it doesn’t overwrite anything. Total overhauls adding new government types won’t have those characters with new governments as options, but shouldn’t cause crashes; only characters with supported governments are presented as options. Supported governments: feudal, tribal, clan, and (with DLC) administrative.

Originally posted by Chlodio:

Instead of playing as a dynasty, you play as a spirit going from one ambitious ruler to another. Every time your character dies, you are given a choice of playing as three rulers who all have the Ambitious-trait (and are young, powerful or high-ranking). You thus have one lifetime to make your mark on the world before you move to play someone unrelated.

Your descendants are marked with the "Descendant of Ambition"-trait, so you can trace them even after centuries.

Note: In order to activate the mod, you have to take the decision "Become the Muse of Ambition".
