RE2 – Rook Starter CV
The Rook is a redesigned Reforged Eden 2 version of the original Rook which is itself a redesign of the Corvus frigate created by sulusdacor for his Pegasus Incident collection (link at bottom).
-= UPGRADES =-
Built as a starter exploration CV it is wider and longer than the original and accommodates all the essentials one would need to start exploring the galaxy including a full medical bay.
Starting as a basic core 1 CV the Rook comes with detailed upgrade instructions on multiple LCDs that can be toggled from the control panel. Following the upgrade path fully will result in a vessel capable of idling forever when parked in a safe sector if you are on a multiplayer server.
-= PRODUCTION =-
Starting off with a single large constructor production is initially limited however a second constructor can be added and there is a dedicated location for a universal constructor should you wish to add one to the ship.
-= STORAGE =-
Storage includes a 320k cargo, 320k harvest container as well as a 80k dedicated fuel and oxygen / pentaxid containers. Ammunition storage is a comfortable 92k. 12 labeled small containers round out the ship’s storage and should allow you to keep everything organized, or not, you do you!
-= HULL, DEFENCE & OFFENCE =-
The hull is mostly comprised of carbon to keep weight low and provide as much lift as I could give while staying CPU and power compliant (3.8kt at 1g). With the addition of shield penetration I added steel reinforcements on the aft section to give you time to run away bravely should you encounter an enemy patrol vessel. This has upped the ship’s weight slightly but not affected maneuverability in any noticeable way.
The starting armaments on the Rook has been upgraded to 6 minigun turrets with room for another 3 if you are feeling particularly spicy.
Starting shields are only a little over 6k but once upgraded you have a 30k shields which will allow you to flee anything you cannot kill and be confident she will not be cored by roaming drones while you clear a POI.
-= POWER =-
With the removal of solar panels for capital vessels the Rook is no longer cap stable when spawned but it can be made cap stable by adding plasma turbines. Upgrade LCDs have been added to describe the process.
