Description:

Dear Project Zomboid players, this is the first game map mod that I have made by myself. I have run several times in the game, but I have not found any mistakes that will affect the smooth progress of the game and the buildings in the map. Since this is my first production, if you find any problems and errors, please leave a message (it is better to tell me the solution together), I will timely modify the mod file.

The reason for creating this mod was that I needed a super large storage building to collect all the resources on the map to challenge how long I could survive in the game, so I created a huge shelter in the southwest of the map, which was modified based on the original map cell29-31. The building is divided into multiple layers, which is suitable for single and multiple people online as a security base. The prototype of the building is the real XX Express company cargo transfer station. I also made some changes myself, including two buildings: the first floor of the building in the west is storage space and a staff canteen; The second floor of the building contains resource rooms such as weapon stores, department stores and clothing stores. The third floor is a five-room staff dormitory, including 26 dormitories, a total of 130 beds for multi-person online use; The fourth floor contains the library, large bar, and two storage rooms for sundries. The roof of the fifth floor contains earth terrain for planting. Other unused areas in the building have been added with lights, which can be changed according to the player’s needs.

The building in the east is also a large warehouse with a height of five floors. Only the first floor has room classification, including storage boxes. The 2-5 floors of the building have no classification, and they have been equipped with lights, which can be transformed according to the needs of multiple people/single people.

After making this large shelter, I tried to add some buildings to the rest of the map to make the map more rich.

Instead of using the building files already made by other modules, I copied some distinctive buildings from other games/anime. So far, I have only built 5 buildings, based on 3 games and one anime, from northwest to southeast: two restaurants (based on 《Cooking Simulator》standard kitchen,and the"cake and cookie" kitchen); A bank (from 《Pay Day 2》frist rob job); A coffee shop (Maori detective agency from 《Detective Conan》); There’s also a small town with a tight space, based on 《Persona5》,Amamiya Ren’s home.

Due to the limitations of the game, such as the material of the furniture and the space taken up, I tried my best to recreate the building itself in the Project Zomboid. But for these reasons, there are some scrapped cases, such as the Mama Dolce’s in Fallout 76, the Nuclear Bomb Town in Call of Duty, and several maps in Rainbow Six Siege. Since the stairs in the game only go in the southwest and southeast directions, these obsolete buildings were all laid out with stairs in other directions anyway, and I had to give up on these ideas after trying a lot of alternatives that would have caused the map scale to be too different from the original building.

About the future update plan

– The map will be modified based on suggestions from players, and more buildings will be added outside the warehouse District (also based on other games/anime, the buildings from the movie may be added in the future).

Buildings already in the works: The home of the main character in an anime that premieres in April 2022. Buildings in more FPS games.

Leave a comment if you have a good idea, such as impressive buildings in movies/games/anime that are easy to recognize and would not be unreasonable to put into Project Zomboid (e.g. some buildings in Apex Legends I can build in games, but this one is a bit too sci-fi…), I will try to use the building editor to move those buildings into the Project Zomboid map.

The known problems

There are no problems with the map running in the game, but if the game chooses to be born on the map, it will directly cause the game to crash. I have tried a few methods but it won’t work, so please don’t choose to be born directly on the map module!! Please do not choose to be born directly in this map module!!
