Description:
Version 0.0.1a

Description

I intend for this mod to get a bit more sophisticated.

This mod is intended to break up combat against doom stacks to more manageable skirmishes. Using the mod configuration in Unity Mod Manager, you can limit how many ships the aliens, AI factions, and/or yourself can bring to a singular battle.

The idea of this mod is to break up large battles into smaller skirmishes. When a battle is started, the combatants list for each faction are reduced to the configured maximum ships. The other ships in the fleet aren’t lost, they just don’t take part in that particular skirmish.

By default, maximum fleet size uses the configured maximum ships in battle value, but can be overridden in the configuration.

This also provides the ability for human factions to undertake more guerrilla hit-and-runs on larger alien fleets in a war of attrition.

Comment below if you run into any bugs.

Further work on this mod will look to add more smarts to system of ship selection beyond just trimming the last ship in the reinforcement list.

How It Works

During combat setup, the mod will remove ships from the reinforcements list until fleets met their maximum size. This means these ships are not lost or destroyed, simply no taking part in the battle.

Compatibility

This mod was built on version 0.4.41 but tested against 0.4.38.

Dependencies

This mod requires Unity Mod Manager[www.nexusmods.com] to use because it needs some of that code mod goodness.
