Mod the Spire++ (READ INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS)

Mod the Spire++ is custom update for Mod the Spire, designed to improve the user’s experience with the Mod Launcher. It contains several new features and a few improvements which you can read up more down below!

Note: Mod the Spire++ is in it’s early stages. I have not been able to test it yet on SteamDeck. If you test it out, feedback is super welcome. Any bug reports can be done either here or on the discord!

1. Subscribe to ModTheSpire, BaseMod, and this mod
2. Launch the regular mod launcher as usual
3. In the launcher you will now see ‘!Mod the Spire Patcher’ at the top of your mod list. Select that and basemod, and launch the game
4. Once the game has launched fully that’s it – the next time you launch Mod the Spire, it will have all of the updates installed.

Note – these instructions only need to be done once. Even if you reinstall this mod, you will not have to do this. Only in the case of a game reinstall will this need to be done again.

While I’d love to simplify the installation process, unfortunately this is the only available method to execute any kind of changes outside of the game.

Unsubscribe from this mod. Your Mod the Spire will now be back to the old version.

While not needed, if for whatever reason you have to fully purge your game files from my patches, go to your game folder and go to "mtspp_backup", where you’ll find "mts_launcher.jar". Take that file and replace the one in the game folder with it.

– Mod list export and import – easily share your modlists with your friends!
– Multiplay – launch several profiles at once, perfect if you want to keep them neatly organised
– Themes!
– Edit profile button – change the profile name because why isn’t that a thing?
– Check for mod updates button now checks for steam updates instead of just GitHub mod updates
– Visit on Steam button – for easy access to the mod’s steam page
– Check for updates on MtS launch
– Various UI improvements

Right now, MtS++ offers the functionality of linking your Discord/Patreon to your mod, so that it shows up in the mod launcher. If you’re interested in doing that, join the discord server/and or message me for instructions.

In the future, once the main features are all done, there will be a lot of work done to enable mod authors to fully use MtS to their advantage.

Most of my changes done change the launcher portion of MTS, so compatibility should not be affected. A few methods and variables have been deprecated, but none of them should have been used in the game.

Any bugs discovered will be resolved as quickly as possible, however there should not be many, if any.

Since Mod the Spire++ is an update, the original Mod the Spire MUST be installed in conjuction with this mod
