This mod is a random non-background one just for the ultimate goal to have a ‘UdaloyII’. There might be some glitches and ill try to deal with them maybe later.

You know, a lot of players start off kit-bashing in games with the simplest, purest, and most badass motivation: upgrading the Udaloy into a Udaloy II by slapping a Sunburn missile system onto it. Unfortunately, though, the game’s modelers shattered that dream with ease by sticking in an unremovable missile launcher model. Tough luck.

But hey, we always say that people should adapt to their environment, not the other way around. Sure, humans can resist and fight back, but missiles? Not so much. If it doesn’t fit into an SS-N-14 launcher, it’s just not going in. Then again, maybe we’ve got it backwards. Maybe missiles should adapt to the launcher, not the launcher to the missile, right?

Maybe the real issue is that we misunderstood what makes a Udaloy II from the very start. We’ve been focusing too much on form and ignoring concept. What really is a Udaloy II? Maybe it’s not just the old Udaloy with a shiny Sunburn and AK-130 slapped on. If we take a broader view, maybe any Udaloy with supersonic anti-ship missiles and an AK-130 could count as a Udaloy II.

So really, the challenge is finding a supersonic missile that fits in an SS-N-14 launcher. Problem is, the Soviets didn’t exactly have many of those in the game. Closest thing might be the Kh-31 air-launched missiles, but guess what? Not in the game either.

Still, people always find a way. If the Kh-31 didn’t exist, then the Kh-58 would just have to get itself an active radar seeker. Strap on a few boosters, and boom—no reason it couldn’t be a compact supersonic anti-ship missile.

Oh, and by the way, I happen to be a proud space engineer from Kerbal Space Program and very skilled at adding solid rocket boosters. But yeah, losing the SS-N-14 kinda tanks its anti-submarine capabilities, right? So, I’ve got a little surprise: an SS-N-16 rocket-assisted torpedo, Asroc-style. Sure, it’s supposed to launch from torpedo tubes, but eh, coding limitations. Whatever—problem solved.

Anyway, that’s a wrap, man. Udaloy II, done and dusted. Hope you guys enjoy whatever this thing is (Udaloy II? Probably). At least it works. Sort of.

Exam week’s fried my brain, so here’s to hoping you all have fun with this weird stuff.
