It offers a diverse range of gameplay, and is intended to be a challenging experience where you will have to overcome superior Soviet/Cuban forces with limited tools at your disposal.
Multiple Soviet flagged merchant vessels approach the quarantine line, and are assumed to be carrying IRBMs and other war material to Cuba. This represents a threat to the national security of the United States that cannot be tolerated. TU-22.1.1 is the only force operating in the area and must enforce the blockade alone by any means necessary until reinforcements from TF-23 can arrive.
Cuba remains a fortified threat to U.S. security. President Kennedy has authorized a combined strike and amphibious operation to neutralize Cuban command and control (C2) assets and initiate a ground invasion to secure the Havana region.
NOTE: Use of TASM, TLAM, and A/RGM-84 Harpoons is ahistorical and the scenario is balanced around not using them.
Following the U.S invasion of Cuba to neutralise MRBM sites – the Soviet Union has retaliated by invading Turkey through the Caucasus to remove our equivilant Jupiter missile sites. NATO resistance in Turkey has already crumbled from the suprise attack, and the entire Black Sea fleet has now passed the Dardanelles Strait and is entering the Mediterranean.

Following a successful NATO counteroffensive in Europe, the Soviet Union, reeling from defeats, launches a last-ditch attempt to strike the U.S. Eastern Seaboard with nuclear missiles from two Yankee-class SSBNs. A P-3C Orion patrol detected two possible sonar contacts north of Hawaii, but severe storms have grounded further flights. The USS Snook (SSN-592) is the only unit in the area able to respond before the submarines reach missile launch range.
