Historical Notes
Mongolian uniforms of the period were largely identical to Soviet counterparts, with the exception of lapels, cuffs, and hat pins. Photographs show Mongolian troops primarily wearing the pilotka or furazhka caps, including in battle, rather than steel helmets. The elaborate cuffs of Mongolian officers were the most distinctive element, with embroidered blue, silver, and gold trimmings with the mongolian national symbol, the Soyombo. Troops were primarily armed with Mosin Nagants, with few heavy weapons, but photographs suggest DP-27s were also plentiful. Most Mongolian soldiers, being cavalrymen, went into battle with sabres, including as dismounts (these are included in the mod, but not scabbards…yet). Mongolian armor crews would have driven armored cars and a small number of BT tanks. Artillery would have primarily been horse-drawn older Putilov guns and mortars on pack horses.
